Parma to Zagreb was a very long day. I first had to drive from Parma to Milan Malpensa airport and return the rental car befor 1200 (midday). At the last toll stop before the airport I made a mistake and presented my credit card before I inserted the ticket and got charged EUR 88 instead of about 4 euro. I stopped and asked at the attached office and they said apply online, which I did and the refund is coming in 40 days. There are several different toll machines run by different companies in Italy and they work differently and it can get confusing. Milan has 2 airports Malpensa about an hours drive west of Milan and Bergamo an hours drive east of Milan. The only direct flight I could find from Milan to Zagreb that worked with my schedule was from Bergamo at 2320. Therefore I had to get on the shuttle bus from Malpensa to Bergamo a 2 hour ride and then sit around until 2320. The flight time was an hour and a half, from Zagreb airport I took a taxi to my accommodation and finally checked in at 0200.

Zagreb – I have visited a number of times. Very easy to get around with the extensive network of trams and buses and an app for payment that works well, minimum fare is EUR 0.53. Uber and Bolt are also available at reasonable rates. The annual marathon was on and fun to watch. I visited the City museum which was interesting and the Cathedral which is still being renovated.
